This week, Michelle Obama came out and claimed she hid her purchases from Barack. That, like a lot of women, she hides them at the back of the closet and upon being asked about it when she wears it, claims, “this old thing”.
PISSING PATHETIC IS WHAT IT IS.
For a woman who worked and paid her own bills, she hides her purchases. If anyone was going to stand up and say, “girl’s don’t hide your purchases, come out and scream HELL YEAH when he asks if I bought it“, then I thought she’d be the one.
The fact that someone “so powerful” could be a closet piss weak pathetic hider annoys me.
When are women going to stop hiding. As long as you make your own money, pay the mortgage/rent, bills, make sure there’s food on the table, the heat is on in winter, the cool is on in summer, there’s clothes on your backs, then WHY THE FUCKING HELL WOULD YOU NEED TO HIDE IT?
The only thing I can think of is that they are scared of being controlled?
What, the partner would yell, scream, beat them up, throw them out?
I just don’t get it.
Are they making it a bigger thing in their mind than it actually would be in real life?
Would their partners even give a shit if they knew….oh, wait, it’s the whole “what did you need that for, “will you even wear it”, “it still has it’s tags and it’s been in the closet how long”, “why are you spending mgood money on things you don’t wear”. So it’s the whole “don’t question me when you’re not perfect” thing then.
Although some guys are just as big a shopper as their wives, I’ve seen Dr Phil, some men need their toys and go into debt for it.
IF IT’S YOUR MONEY THEN SPEND IT ON WHAT YOU WANT!
If it’s bags, clothes, shoes, men, hookers, go for it!

Hear hear!
If my partner asks me if somethings new, I just smile sweetly and say, "well yes, isn't it PRETTY!" and he always has to agree. Because it is.
And I agree on your point that Michelle should have been the one to say loud and proud, YEAH I BOUGHT THIS COZ I LIKE IT, WITH MY MONEY! Independent women, yo.

hm…. I do that, I'll admit it. Just because the boyfriend and I have different ideas on what should be prioritized and I don't want to have to explain why I can afford a new pair of shoes but not to go out to dinner.. 🙂 Not because I can't or because he will be angry, just because I can't be bothered! Also, I think when people get married, you have joint economies and then it isn't just YOUR money anymore..

A lot of money experts tell you to keep your own account and then have a joint household account. So once the bills are paid it doesn't matter what you spend your own money on.
Pft, who wants dinner over a new pair of shoes. Food goes through you, shoes last for ages!
