To follow on from what I vlogged about last Saturday, a doctor has now come out and called “Women who plan to get pregnant after they reach their late 30s are selfish and self-centred”.
Apparently, Dr Barry Walters, an obstetrician, said yesterday that people who delayed having children that long were unfairly leaving their offspring to deal with geriatric parents by the time they reached their teens and early 20s. He said the number of older expectant mothers coming into the hospital had become an epidemic and this led to far more pregnant women and babies with medical problems.
The proportion of women giving birth aged 35 or older has steadily increased every year, from 4.7 per cent in 1980 to 21.5 per cent in 2008.
Dr Walters also blasted some intro-vitro fertilisation practitioners for enabling older women to get pregnant. “They are unethical and money-grabbing,” he said. He advised women to have their children by the time they were 37 and to have a medical check-up and be a healthy weight before they got pregnant.
As most TV people have blasted him for, you cannot count on your life to go how you want it too. You cannot expect to be with a partner and get pregnant when YOU want to.
Hell, he clearly DOES NOT realise that as of the last Australian Census, there was 30 women to every man over the age of 18. How the hell are we supposed to get a man to get pregnant then? Are we supposed to track down a guy on the street, have a screw and hope we get knocked up?
Not every woman has a man, and what about lesbians? What about gay men?
This doctor has obviously NOT figured out that there ARE NO fish in the sea.
We did another Census this year, and I’m assuming there will be 40-50 women per every man over the age of 18 in the world. So by the time you take out the gays, the marrieds, those in relationships, those in jail, those out of your religion range, your age range, your race range, your price range, there AIN’T NO FUCKING FISH LEFT IN THE SEA!
So how the fuck are we supposed to find a man to have a family with?
Fucked if I know! If this moronic doctor knows, he should tell us singles coz we’d like to know. I’d like to know coz my egg timer is running out and I ain’t got no man!
